Voltage Ripple

Voltage ripple is when a DC power source has voltage variations due to interference or an insufficient rectification. Note all DC power has some ripple but is typically minimal. Some electrical components are more sensitive than others to ripple, such as GPS, and some can even cause ripple (Reaction Wheels). Ripple can cause damage to DC circuitry and therefore we need to design to minimize it.
